I LOVE to try foods I haven’t experienced before – I find new ingredients and different taste sensations thrilling. My husband brought home kohlrabi from a recent Saturday morning Farmers Market, which neither of us had tried before. I was excited to find a recipe, searching for something that looked yummy and wasn’t complicated to make, and served the resulting delicious dish to my family.
3 kohlrabi bulbs, peeled
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Heat oven to 450F.
Cut the kohlrabi into 1/4 inch slices, then cut each of the slices in half. Combine olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Toss kohlrabi slices in the olive oil mixture to coat. Spread kohlrabi in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake until browned, about 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally in order to brown evenly.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Return to the oven to allow the parmesan cheese to brown, about 5 minutes.
