My daughter was super excited to try these Fried Dill Pickles, and helped me prepare them.
FRIED DILL PICKLES
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup cornmeal
freshly ground black pepper to taste
vegetable oil, for frying
1 (32 ounce) jar of dill pickle slices, drained
salt to taste
In a large bowl, combine eggs, 1/4 cup flour, buttermilk, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, cayenne, seasoning salt, and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, combine cornmeal, remaining 2 cups flour, and black pepper.
Pour oil to a depth of 1 inch in a skillet, heat to 365F.
Dip dill pickle slices into milk mixture, and then dredge in flour mixture. Working in batches, fry pickles until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
Enjoy!
