We were thrilled to be invited to a friends 80th birthday party in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately we had a later start on Friday than we had anticipated, and spent the first night of our trip somewhere in Oklahoma, which put us into Dallas a little later than we had anticipated.
After arriving at our destination, we were able to enjoy family friendly activities and restaurants, and had a wonderful time at the Birthday Party.
We had heard great things about the Mexican food at the Blue Goose Cantina, so that was our first choice for dinner.
We had a great time walking around the Dallas Zoo, which was founded in 1888, is the only Zoo in Texas, and one of only 10 in the nation to house Koalas.
We concluded our short trip to this busy city at the lovely Glorias Latin Cuisine restaurant. Nestled in the Oak Cliff district, an interesting area of upscale restaurants surrounded by mercados and tacquerias.
It was difficult to choose between the Pomegranate and Mango Mimosas – both sounded so unique and delicious, and at $2, were a bargain that couldn’t be missed.
But I had no problem choosing the Ceviche Tostada for lunch – the crunchy shell was layered with guacamole and ceviche and topped with red onions – it was fabulous!
