After a relaxed night at home, with the kitchen cleaned up and the kids in bed, my husband and I decided to mix ourselves a quiet cocktail and enjoy the rest of the peaceful evening curled up together. He poured a Gin and Tonic, and after tasting the Moonwalk, I added a little gin to my delightful drink as well.

Interestingly, this cocktail was invented to commemorate the Apollo 11 moon landing, and was the first thing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin sipped upon returning to earth – fun and refreshing, this is perfect for a celebration, or for enjoying a quiet evening at home.

1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice

1 ounce orange liqueur

3 drops rose water

sparkling wine, for topping

Combine grapefruit juice, orange liqueur, and rose water in an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a champagne flute, top with champagne.
