I love walking out our front door, and having access to a variety of fresh herbs. Some we re-plant each year, and some, like the bush I picked the sage from for this cocktail, has been here ever since we moved in 14 years ago.


the sage

3 ounces gin

1 ounce elderflower liqueur

1/2 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

5 to 6 sage leaves

sprig of sage for serving

Combine gin, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup and sage leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake until cold. Strain into a glass, garnish with a sprig of fresh sage.
