I made this gorgeous, refreshing drink one night after a long drive home, and after cooking a simple dinner for my daughter, settled on the couch with my book to enjoy the peace of the evening.
I love the fun, contemporary idea of serving it in a mason jar, but I just really wanted my cocktail in a traditional cocktail glass, without the chill of the ice.
5 tablespoons bourbon
2 tablespoons ginger liqueur
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon simple syrup
1/4 teaspoon bitters
lime slices to garnish
Stir together bourbon, ginger liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup and bitters. Fill Mason jar with ice. Pour bourbon mixture over ice, top with ginger beer and garnish with lime.
