A dear friend picked us up for a ladies afternoon out in Winslow, Arkansas, located along North Highway 71. This tiny town of 399 people is home to Ozark Folk Ways (http://ozarkfolkways.net), a wonderful and fascinating art and craft building.
Construction began in the 1940’s on what was originally planned as a place where traditional crafts could be valued, appreciated and practiced. However, the original owner did not live to complete the building, which became a Nuns Retreat and Parochial School before standing vacant for many years. It was acquired by the Ozark Native Craft Association in the early 1970’s, transitioning to Ozark Folk Ways.
